April 2022. Alina Shukh is a 23 years old professional heptathlete from Ukraine. She is a former World champion U20 and European champion U18 and U20. 

After helping Ukraine's territorial defense for a few weeks after the war started there, Alina had no choice but to temporarily run away from her country in order to resume training and do her job. She joined the Centre de Ressources, d'Expertise et de Performance Sportive (CREPS) of Wattignies, France, which offers living and training facilities to athletes who can no longer train in Ukraine.
